Fire Prevention enables the design and construction of structures and facilities that meet the requirements of current regulations in order to reduce the probability of a fire starting and spreading.
Our activities cover Fire Prevention and Fire Protection:
Subject activities are those listed in Presidential Decree 151/2011, Annex I, by way of example only theaters, hotels and tourist resorts with more than 25 beds, schools and colleges with more than 100 people present, and kindergartens with more than 30 people present.
Each workplace is classified in the risk assessment with a fire risk level that can be low, medium, high. Most workplaces have the same fire hazard classification in each of its areas. But it may occur that there is a high-level area in a workplace. In this case, if the area is not separated through fire-resistant elements, the fire hazard classification of the entire workplace is elevated.
Fire Protection measures can be active or passive. Active measures are those that require human action or the operation of a system; the primary objective of active protective measures is to detect the fire as soon as possible. Passive protection measures require neither human action nor the operation of a system; their main purpose is to limit fire damage.
The risk level of a workplace can be reduced by installing automatic active protection measures, for example, automatic fire extinguishing systems, fire detection systems and automatic smoke extraction systems.
